\"\"Abbey OF San Galgano<\/h1>\n

San Galgano, a magical place that includes two points of attraction: the large Abbey with a huge church without a roof, an evocative example of Cistercian Gothic architecture and the hermitage of Monte Siepi where, according to legend, San Galgano retired to a hermit’s life in 1170. As a symbol of peace he stuck his sword inside the rock, where it is still today inside the chapel built around 1180 with a very original structure: the plan is circular with a bell gable. \"\"CHIUSDINO<\/h1>\n

Chiusdino is a wonderful medieval village located in the Merse Valley among the Metalliferous hills. Its origin is located during the Lombard domination in Tuscany between 568 and 569.
\nThe town still retains its medieval appearance, it is possible to find medieval houses including the presumed house of San Galgano where it is believed that the saint was born around 1150.
\nAmong the religious buildings of the town we find the Propositura di San Michele Arcangelo, near the house of San Galgano, the church of San Martino, called “outside the walls”, and the Church of the Compagnia di San Galgano where it is possible to admire the bas-relief depicting San Galgano sticking his sword into the stone.

\"\"SIENA<\/h1>\n

Siena city of art, cultured city, city of good food, city of the Palio, is just over 30 km away.
\nThe city divided into 17 districts, of these only ten participate in the Palio race with a horse that is assigned to them by extraction. The Palio, which consists of walking around the Piazza del Campo three times, takes place on 2 July in honor of the Madonna di Provenzano and on 16 August in honor of the Madonna Assunta.
\nSiena stands out for its medieval brick buildings. \"\"SAN GIMIGNANO<\/h1>\n

Just 50 km away we find San Gimignano, the cradle of medieval architecture with its 14 towers.<\/p>\n

Just 40 km away it is possible to admire the Gulf of Follonica, one of the most famous destinations in Tuscany, located north of the Maremma; from here it is then possible to reach the Etruscan coast with Populonia and Baratti, where history blends with nature.
